It's Great to Come in Second Where Jesus is First!

Compassion Center Ministry

Second Baptist Compassion Center

"Meeting Needs In Order To Share Christ"
The Compassion Center of Second Baptist Church is organized and designed to follow the command of Christ: "To feed those who are hungry, give water to those who are thirsty, take in those who are strangers, clothe those who are naked, minister to those who are sick and in prison" (Matt 25:35-36).
We believe the Church is called to meet people's physical, emotional and spiritual needs in order to show them the way to our great Savior and Lord, Jesus Christ. Jesus himself said the whole law and prophets hang upon two simple truths, love God, love one another (Matt 22:40). The Compassion Center is founded and based on these two simple truths. His Heart draws us to love Him, for God is love (I John 4:8b).
As a result Our Hands wait eagerly to love others, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another (I John 4:11). His Heart Our Hands is much more than a simple phrase, it is the focus of His ministry and our mandates.
